Jab Tak Hai Jaan (Translation: Till There Is Life) is an  Indian romantic film directed by Yash Chopra and written and produced by Aditya Chopra under their production banner Yash Raj Films. The film features Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, making it the first film to pair Khan and Kaif and the second collaboration between Khan and Sharma after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
It is Yash Chopra's fourth film to feature Shahrukh Khan in the lead role and it marks his return as a director after eight years. Chopra's last film was Veer-Zaara in 2004.

Story/Plot

 

Samar is an officer of the bomb disposal squad of the Indian Army posted in Ladakh. He is essentially an introvert and doesn't socialize much, seemingly hinting at a scarred past. Samar had decided that the only way to forget the pain is to prepare it for bigger things. He went a on brutal workout training and made his way to the army. He,then, meets a loud, extrovert Akira. She is a dreamer and aspires to work for The National Geographic Channel. With time, Akira starts developing a strange fondness towards Samar - a strange infatuation, or maybe, even love.
Here film moves to flashback.
A younger Samar lives in London, UK. He does odd jobs through the city for a living, yet has no issues with life and lives for the moment. Samar's parents had a intense, eventful love story before marriage. Samar takes a cue from them about love and life. It is then that Samar is confronted by Meera on the streets of London. Lust draws Samar closer to Meera and in a series of events, they find themselves, possibly, in love. Samar, then, meets with an accident. A tragedy that robs him off all his beautiful, ugly, fun, melancholic memories and leaves, to his spare, a hollow mind and a tease. What, hence, happens to his relationship with Meera; whether Akira finds love for herself in Samar and whether Samar overcomes the ghosts of his past and embraces the present; Finding true love between life and death, hope and despair and present and past gives shape to the odyssey of Samar Anand.
A love saga which depicts an eternity of love and passion of souls entrenched in it - Jab tak hai jaan, jab tak hai jaan!
